Privacy Policy
Annoto Ltd. (“we”, “us”, “our”), respects your privacy. This policy (the “Policy”) explains our privacy practices. It describes the ways your personal information and data is collected and used and the rights and options available to you with respect to your information. The personal information you provide (as described below) depends on your volition and consent. You are not legally obligated to provide or give access to this information, but we do require it to in order to allow you to use our online service.
This policy is incorporated to our Terms of Use (the “Terms”) and constitutes an integral part of them.
Annoto™ is an online service (the “Service”) that allows users to post and read comments (“Comments”) to digital media content on the web, such as new media, video clips, audio clips, presentations, etc. (“Content”).
Website operators can register to the Service in order to activate it on the website they own and operate (“Participating Websites”). Once a Participating Website has been set-up to utilize the Service, registered users of the Service can then post Comments to Content that appears on the Participating Website. The Comments posted are viewable by all Internet users.
You’ll need to sign-up and register to the Service if you wish to post Comments to Content, or wish to set-up and activate the Service on a website that you own and operate.
You may sign-up as a user through your account on one of the social networks or online platforms that the Service supports, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google (“Third Party Platforms”), or by filling-out our sign-up form.
If you choose to register with our sign-up form, we will ask you to provide your email and choose a Service username and password.
If you choose to register with your Third Party Platform account, you are allowing us access to retrieve your profile information on the Third Party Platform. The particular categories of information we retrieve from your account on the Third Party Platform are the scope of information that the Third Party Platform makes available to us by default, according to the Third Party Platform’s privacy policy. The information we collect in this manner typically includes your name (which will become your Service username), email address and profile picture. We may also collect additional categories of information from your account on the Third Party Platform, beyond those categories that the Third Party Platform makes available to us by default, only if you specifically choose to share those other categories with us.
Once signed-up, the profile tab of your account on the Service allows you to optionally provide additional information about yourself, and modify your existing profile information, such as your date of birth, Service username, profile picture, mobile phone number, gender, occupation, professional skills, interests and hobbies.
BECAUSE THE COMMENTS YOU POST MAY HAVE TO DO WITH THE PRIVACY OF OTHERS, YOU MUST LAWFULLY OBTAIN THE CONSENT OF ALL INDIVIDUALS WHOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION OR PRIVATE
AFFAIRS MAY BE REFLECTED IN YOUR COMMENTS.
IN ANY CASE, USE CAUTION AND COMMON SENSE WHEN YOU POST COMMENTS INDICATIVE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION OF YOURSELF OR OTHER INDIVIDUALS. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL COMMENTS THAT YOU UPLOAD.
You may choose to share Comments you posted through Service, on or through your feed or wall on Third Party Platforms. Your use of such Third Party Platforms and their use of the Comments you share through them, are governed by their own terms of use and privacy policy, not this Policy.
